Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) *Up to $2,000 Hiring Bonus*

Providence is calling a Physical Therapy Assistant (Op Rehab Services Ortho, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence St Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Outpatient Orthopedic Rehab team.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Implements treatment plan established by supervising therapist and communicates with therapist regarding patient response to treatment and any needed modifications to treatment plan.
  • Ensures patient and family understand the therapy process and their involvement in treatment as appropriate.
  • Performs treatments and patient care activities in a timely and safe manner following appropriate policy and procedure.
  • Meets productivity goals per department standards.
  • Assesses and documents the learning needs of patients and families in cooperation with supervising therapist and carries out specific measures to meet the assessed learning needs and documents in progress notes, i.e., home programs and pass assessments.
  • Presents information clearly and in a manner appropriate to the level of patient and family member understanding.
  • Attends and participates in patient care conferences when necessary.
  • Depicts the patient's current status accurately according to department charting guidelines.
  • Summarizes the patient's status on transfer or discharge in conjunction with supervising therapist.
  • Records patient charges accurately and promptly.
  • Determines need for outpatient therapy and follow-up and make post discharge recommendation in collaboration with supervising therapist.
  • Provides patient and family with training and information needed for successful management in the discharge setting.
  • Obtains and records patient data accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
  • Washington State licensed or eligible
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider or obtain within first 30 days of employment

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Recent applicable clinical experience
