Senior Manager Cost & Inventory Accounting Lead (BPO)

Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager Cost & Inventory Accounting Lead (BPO) to be located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Consideration will be given to remote based talent in North America, LATAM, EMEA or APAC. If located outside of EST, you will need to be flexible to work in eastern standard time as required for key meetings and deliverables.

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Business Product Owner (Senior Manager) – Cost & Inventory Accounting Lead who will work at the intersection of business & technology to define strategies that combine a deep understanding of business objectives, challenges, with technology solutions and extending them into development execution, value realization & ongoing product management.

In this role, you will own setting the strategic direction for finance technology products focused on architecting SAP Central Finance / S/4 HANA, and our migration to transactional processing capabilities in conjunction with our greenfield ERP Roadmap for Supply Chain, as the enterprise embarks on an ambitious transformational agenda. Additionally, in this role, you will own our Enterprise Performance management integration governance, enabling us to ensure that we optimize our greenfield integrated planning solutions across commercial, supply chain and finance particularly in the Product Costing and Inventory Accounting arena.


  • Business Problem Definition: understand and translate business problems faced by the finance function into a value case & comprehensive set of solutions spanning process, technology, data, governance & user experience supported by defined, baselined value realization key performance indicators
  • External Insights: understand external trends and insights related to finance process & technology, including macro level shifts in compliance regimes (e.g. BEPS, SAF-T, US Tax Reform) to provide foresight necessary to inform strategies
  • Solution Design: ensure that product development efforts incorporate an approach that starts with experimentation to validate expected impact, includes human centered design, embraces agile principles, incorporates external insights, required end to end process optimizations, and compliance engagement
  • Architecture: partner with the finance architecture team to define the role each system plays within our landscape aligned with business capabilities
  • Internal Partnerships: act as the primary trusted advisor to senior finance & technology leaders across all lifecycles of product development starting with inception through to value realization & ongoing continuous improvement, and communication of progress against strategic objectives
  • Product Management: partner with product management teams to ensure roadmaps are oriented to deliver finance business & technology strategy, value creation objectives, and measurable key performance indicators
  • External Partnerships: manage vendor relationships to influence development roadmaps & ensure that our needs will be met by our technology partners
  • Team Leadership: lead a team of finance technology strategy professionals across multiple domains



  • A minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, information technology or related field.
  • Experience with SAP ECC
  • SAP experience within FICO with heavier emphasis on CO.
  • Experience with Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting and Cost Elements accounting.
  • Experience with Product Costing
  • SAP Inventory accounting and valuations experience.
  • COPA – Profitability Analysis implementations.
  • Excellent communication skills and be customer oriented, aiming at effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Natural collaborator, who has the leadership presence to influence results and build a strong sense of collective team engagement.


  • S/4 HANA and SAP Central Finance Experience
  • An understanding of technology standards and strategies
  • Experience working in Gxp environment
  • Individual must be proficient in creating defects and test scripts using HPALM or JIRA
  • Experience structuring & facilitating large workshops with senior stakeholders


  • This position is located in in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Consideration will be given to remote based talent in North America, LATAM, EMEA or APAC. If located outside of EST, you will need to be flexible to work in eastern standard time as required for key meetings and deliverables.
  • This position may require up to 15% domestic and international travel.


The base pay range for this position is $111,000 to $166,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.  Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.  The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year.  Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
