UX/UI Designer (PowerFlex)

EDF Renewables is looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer who is passionate about renewable energy, electric vehicles and building elegant technology to support both. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in technology and a passion to deliver cutting-edge products for our electric vehicle company PowerFlex. The UX/UI Designer will be a key part of an agile software development team, translating product requirements into beautiful and intuitive interfaces for both web and mobile products.



Responsibilities:




  • Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, customers and other stakeholders to understand user needs and come up with innovative solutions


  • Translate written requirements and concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences for web and mobile applications


  • Create rapid prototypes to iterate quickly


  • Conduct user research and testing to validate design assumptions and ensure usability


  • Create pixel-perfect designs ready for development handoff


  • Recommend design solutions and UI improvements across a broad spectrum of products and marketing assets



 



Required Skills:




  • Demonstrates relevant technical/professional skills related to the role


  • Makes decisions and solves problems based on sound technical and UX knowledge


  • Understands critical user journeys in a customer’s digital lifecycle


  • Can adhere to and evolve existing brand identity, visual concepts and design systems


  • Is able to manage multiple small and large scale, cross-functional projects


  • Can pivot projects as necessary


  • Can source new appropriate visual assets aligned to brand/product messaging


  • Can produce rough and high fidelity wireframes, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces


  • Will work with engineering to help establish design style guides and system to enable consistent, repeatable work


  • Must demonstrate a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs


  • Work well independently as well as part of a team. Collaborates well with the others in pursuit of team goals.


  • Naturally builds and maintains rapport with key stakeholders.


  • Positively embraces change, accepts new approaches and maintains own effectiveness in situations of uncertainty. Takes a flexible approach to work.


  • Fluency in rapid prototyping software such as InVision, Sketch, Figma or others


  • Photoshop/Illustrator expertise a must


  • Knowledge with CSS/JavaScript/React Native strongly desired




  • Strong communication and consensus-building soft-skills.


  • Willingness to put the needs of his/her team over their own


  • You love your customers and are obsessed with their happiness

  • Bonus points for prior renewable energy or electric vehicle experience.

Qualifications

  •  4+ years of experience in graphic design and UX with user interface design for responsive web and mobile apps 
  • 3+ years working directly with business stakeholders 
  • Demonstrable portfolio of finished projects ·      
  • Experience
    designing data visualization tools and dashboards preferred

Working Conditions
:



90% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.



10% travel to customer sites, conferences, etc.
