Fayetteville State University Recognized as Adobe Creative Campus
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on July 06, 2022 Fayetteville State University is now a designated Adobe Creative Campus, fostering digital literacy, access, and equity for its students. Digital literacy is critical to teaching and learning, and tomorrow’s workforce demands professionals who are comfortable in the digital space regardless of discipline. As an Adobe Creative Campus, FSU has committed to integrating digital literacy in its strategic plan and building pedagogy that incorporates digital tools to foster critical thinking, creative problem solving, and collaboration. To that end, FSU is now offering Adobe Creative Cloud to its students and integrating Adobe tools and resources into its core curriculum to better prepare them for global citizenship and success. According to Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Monica T. Leach, Ed.D., this kind of hands-on, experiential learning has an immense impact on student preparedness and helps them build a strong skillset that will set them apart in the workforce. “Preparing our students for global citizenship, indeed global leadership, is our fundamental mission as an institution of higher education,” Leach said. “Providing the tools necessary to develop strong communication skills across the digital spectrum is key to providing a well-rounded, multi-dimensional education.” According to Hector M. Molina, DBA, FSU vice chancellor for information technology and CIO, the Adobe Creative Campus program further elevates FSU’s commitment to delivering a world-class education and elevates FSU as a top destination for talented students seeking a distinctive college experience. “As an Adobe Creative Campus, we’re part of a select group of colleges and universities that are driving the future of digital literacy within the global higher education community,” Molina said. “We recognize the value of teaching creative and persuasive digital communication skills, and we actively advance these skills throughout our curricula to help our students succeed in the classroom and gain an edge in the competitive modern workplace.” In addition to making industry-leading Adobe Creative Cloud tools and services available to students, FSU will be able to collaborate with other Adobe Creative Campuses to share ideas, innovations and best practices that expand digital literacy and help ensure student success.
