Kamala Harris Becomes First Black Woman & HBCU Grad to Be Elected Vice President of The United States!
Posted By: Will Moss on November 07, 2020

On Saturday, November 7th, it was declared official that the Biden-Harris ticket has won the nomination for President and Vice President of the United States of America.

Many in the African American and East Indian community are especially elated because for the first time in history, Kamala Harris, a Black/Indian woman and also a graduate of a Historically Black College/University, will be the Vice President of the country.

Kamala Harris is a proud graduate of HBCU Howard University in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. She is also a member of the black sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha.

The affiliation with the HBCUs and Black Greek Letter Organization was leveraged heavily in the campaign and apparently to good effect.

The Biden-Harris campaign ran a huge display advertising campaign on sites like HBCUConnect.com, the largest website dedicated to students and graduates of HBCUs, with over 1.4 million members.

"The campaign ads were viewed over 5 million times by our members, and the engagement was off the charts" according to HBCUConnect.com CEO, Will Moss.

Moss went on to explain, "we were pleasantly surprised with the outreach from the campaign's ad agency, as it was the first time in history where we were leveraged for a presidential campaign. We typically stay out of politics with our own opinions, but if a candidate wants to share their message with our audience, republican, democrat or independent, we would be open to it as long as the messaging is kept classy."

Congratulations to the Biden-Harris campaign for the win and for taking the high road so far in accepting the apparent election win.
