We are looking for a Director of Engineering, VAVE & Supplier Engineering to lead our successful team of managers and engineering professionals in the planning, oversight, and execution of technical projects that positively impact OMX (Operating Margin Expansion) and proactively improve supplier quality, delivery and reduce overall risk in the supply chain.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
Lead multi-functional teams to consistently improve business processes, always with the overarching goal of enhancing customer experience
Drive a culture of continuous improvement using data to uncover root cause and stimulate new and improved processes to better all aspects of Operations
Understand broader organizational projects and timelines and ensure work is appropriately prioritized and resourced
Ensure engineering activities are being consolidated (Quality, Delivery, Cost), wherever possible, to drive efficiencies in organizational resource utilization across the organization
Conduct performance management including both performance objectives aligned to business metrics and development objectives to build team skills and develop associates' abilities
Support the development and monitoring of performance objectives and metrics to ensure optimal performance and on-time delivery of business objectives
Establish cost, quality, and delivery targets that will enable the company to function and compete effectively in the market
Assess suppliers capabilities and make recommendations for capital investments and process improvements that will improve Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Develop and lead all aspects of budget, resource, and work plans for the current and coming fiscal year
Ensure a robust OMX funnel and driving the development and execution of strategies to recognize yearly cost savings targets
Meet the annual VAVE target and support overall OMX target through PPV and T&L projects as requested
Communicate with leadership on current year VAVE performance and funnel building activities for the coming year(s)
Maintain continuous awareness of vendor performance and participate in scorecard development as well as business reviews for assigned vendors
Collaborate with Procurement to develop and implement risk reduction strategies. These risk reduction activities can include: Tooling transfers, sub-tier supplier changes, supplier manufacturing location change, new press qualification, supplier manufacturing process changes, new tooling, etc.
Support the Procurement team to develop supplier strategies that provides quality supply, world-class technologies, and the best long-term total cost
Your skills and experience that matters most:
10 years Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Operations experience
Experience leading a team at a manager or director level
BA/BS degree, or equivalent relevant experience, required (Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering preferred)
Strong leadership skills and the ability to gain followership, direct others, and get results
Committed individual who is highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results
True love of continuous improvement, measuring results, and problem solving
Positive demeanor and ability to work closely with entire leadership team to motivate change, continuous improvement, and engagement throughout the organization
Hands-on design or development engineering experience strongly preferred
Experience or certification in project management strongly preferred
Experience working with international suppliers
Ability to travel 10-20% travel with a mix of domestic and international locations
