Graduate Assistant, Student Accessibility & Support Services (SASS)|
This position is responsible for assisting students who need academic mentorship. This assistance involves the implementation of an academic plan that targets the student's academic, social, and emotional wellbeing. The GA reports directly to the Director of the Student Accessibility and Support Services Office.
This position is a part-time position (8-24 hours per week). The Graduate Assistant works 8 hours a week in SASS to receive tuition remission for one 3 credit graduate course; more hours (8.75) required for Counselor Education degree. SASS will compensate up to three 3-credit graduate courses per semester.
Hold weekly appointments with Academic Skills Program (ASP) and/or Basic Program students assisting with:
Assist in exam administration
Perform other duties as assigned
The overall setting of the job is in an area conducive to a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
This position requires sitting for long periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping when working with files. This position does have some limited lifting involved but not more than 10 pounds at a time. Quite a bit of finger/hand dexterity is involved regarding typing and/or filing.
