Data Quality Analyst
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. is hiring a full-time Data Quality Analyst to support the Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS) at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH). This is an opportunity to work on a dynamic team combining both programmatic and IT staff in the roll-out and utilization of a statewide immunization registry in the Immunization Division of the Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Sciences of the DPH. The Analyst will lead the review, analysis and troubleshooting of data submitted to the system by implementing and overseeing a comprehensive data quality program.

Responsibilities include:

•Implement and oversee data quality program
•Execute queries of data in data warehouse and run reports through the MIIS.
•Identify data discrepancies and troubleshoot problems related to missing or miscoded data.
•Communicate discrepancies to epidemiologists, user support, IT staff and providers/end users.
•Suggest mechanisms for improving data timeliness, completeness and accuracy.
•Perform other tasks as needed to support the programmatic and IT development of the MIIS.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree in public health or a related field preferred.

•Three - five years of professional level experience.
•At least two of these years must be within a health, public health, or medical setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Familiarity with pediatric health care provider issues, the immunization field, health IT, and/or healthcare informatics.
•Experience tracking and analyzing data quality issues in a health care setting.
•Knowledge of statistics and probability including experience with R and/or SAS.
•Experience with relational databases.
•Working knowledge of SQL and the development of SQL queries.
•Facility in learning new technologies and applying them to project work.
•Knowledge of process improvement .
•Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
•Ability to effectively communicate and provide technical assistance to end users with varying levels of IT experience and knowledge.
•Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire to interact with leaders of state government, other government agencies, non-profit organizations, health care providers and their associated organizations.
•Comfortable working independently and able to adapt to changing priorities.
•An energetic, self-starter who can work as part of a team with limited supervision.
•Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
