Comcast Spotlight, a division of Comcast, is hiring a Master Control Center Operator to join the MCC team based in the Bingham Farms Operations Center. This is an entry level position. The candidate will be trained by the supervisor and staff to support the day-to-day operations of the Advertising Insertion platform and support the IT infrastructure of remote sales offices as necessary. He/She will participate alongside the staff to ensure commercial content is within NTSC/NCTA guidelines and processes follow Comcast#s standards as well as troubleshoot and repair notebook and desktop PC hardware and software issues. This is an hourly position and will be subject to overtime hours as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include, but are not limited to, the following: -Encode commercials to MPEG format with adherence to NTSC standards -Successfully manage deployment and retrieval of insertion schedule and verification files -Assist with content encoding and ingestion into Video On Demand (VOD) platform including creation of XML files -Monitor commercial insertion system -Troubleshoot and repair of notebook and desktop PC hardware and software issues and peripheral devices such as printers and scanners -Install supported patches as necessary to PC#s and server based Insertion equipment -Interact with system users through help desk, answering questions and responding to requests -Perform relief, peak load or normal day-to-day technical duties as required -Punctual, regular and consistent attendance -Maintain safe and clean working environment -Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
Qualifications: -Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-project environment -Results-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills -Minimum of 2 years experience in support and troubleshooting PC hardware and software for multiple users, including current versions of MS Windows and MS Office -Working knowledge of professional video and audio production technologies -Working knowledge of WAN/LAN and related equipment and protocols -Knowledge of SQL and Access 2000/2003 a plus -Knowledge of Windows Server NT3.51, NT4.0, 2000 and 2003 a plus -Ability to lift heavy equipment and use standard technical tools -VOD/CATV technical skills a plus -Have and maintain a valid MI driver#s license -Ability to work overtime as needed
