Oversees a team of Network Surveillance Technicians who perform day-to-day monitoring of plant and systems.
Is responsible for the overseeing the Network Surveillance operation for rapid detection and repair of network faults, including surveillance and fault restoration across multiple technology disciplines; microwave and fiber optic transmission; cable telephony over HFC plant; internet access over HFC plant and DTV.
Assures that network surveillance technicians appropriately assign field maintenance technicians to respond to Status Monitoring Alarms and system transmission problems
Coordinates work schedules to ensure that enough staff is on hand to handle the anticipated work volume.
Hire, evaluate, coach and counsel employees in the performance of their duties in order to develop a skilled and reliable workforce. Perform periodic review of the service pool for problems in order to communicate findings to the appropriate person.
Ensure that all records of activity, outages, work orders, and other data are prepared and submitted accurately and on time
Ensure timely communications between field, call center and all key stake holders
Qualifications / Requirements
College degree or equivalent work experience Cable Data & CATV Technical knowledge Valid driver's license High degree of PC knowledge Demonstrated leadership skills 3-5 years dispatch/network maintenance experience preferred
